Take off the Fuel Tank, Engine shaft shock absorber, Primary chain, and clutch as described in the sections dealing with these points.

Disconnect the cable from the positive terminal at the rear of the battery and pull out the plug from the commutator end of the dynamo. Take out the screws securing the Voltage-regulator to the dynamo strap and remove the Dynamo, Regulator and inner half of the Dynamo Belt Cover. Remove Exhaust pipe and Cylinder head steady. Remove Carburetter and disconnect Exhaust lifter and Magneto control cables.

Slightly loosen the bolts holding the rear engine plates to the crankcase and remove all the other bolts securing the front and rear engine plates to the frame and the bolts securing the front engine plates to the crankcase.

Lift the entire engine and gearbox units out of the frame. Finally, separate the engine from the gearbox by removing the bolts holding the rear engine plates to the crankcase.
