  6. Changing A Shock Absorber Spring

Remove the front part of the dynamo belt cover and the dynamo belt as described in the next section, but do not loosen the gearshaft sprocket nut.

Take off the engine mainshaft nut with the dynamo driving pulley and flange which will permit the spring and splined shock absorber clutch to come away.

Before refitting the shock absorber clutch grease the face cams and splines liberally. Push the shock absorber clutch and spring into place and refit the pulley, pulley flange and nut. Fit a new split cotter and open out the ends.
