The knurled screw and locking ring are fitted near the front bottom spindle of the front forks. Undo the locking ring and screw up the knurled adjuster until the correct adjustment has been obtained and then lock up the lower knurled ring. After prolonged use, if the limit of adjustment has been reached, thin packing pieces may be inserted between the steel slippers on the ends of the brake shoes and the brake shoes. These pieces can be cut easily from a piece of ordinary thin tin plate.
