This is a Hardy-Spicer unit and requires no attention. Should it be necessary at any time to remove it, the engine and gearbox unit must be removed from the frame.
With the power and transmission unit taken away remove the felt from the rear fork bell and prise the bell carefully out of the front end of the fork.
The universal joint assembly can then be drawn off the splines of the propeller shaft. There is a light coil spring behind the joint abutting against a collar on the shaft. If this is taken out be sure that it is put back before the universal joint is refitted.
